OPEN | the bookstore
that is to say: she's opening the bookstore. yes, that's the name of it.
it's still a little under construction (or rather, under organization and cleaning), but there's a sign detailing its use: trade me a story, and receive a story in return. there's a number of notebooks, journals, regular books, and stacks of paper with the means to bind them on the counter by the window, so evidently it isn't an oral tale one will be getting, but your very own book!
is this more of a story exchange than a real bookstore? sure. is she aware it's probably going to piss people off if she calls it a bookstore anyway? yes. that's why she named it that.
anyway, come get booked and get a book! if you're one of her librarians, there is a non-zero chance she has asked for your assistance already, but it's a pretty small shop... so you probably don't actually have to stick around all day. )
no subject
is he working? questionable. no one's here at the moment, anyway, so he is simply Vibing somewhere away from the front of the building. it's a 50/50 shot on whether he's working on an art project of his or just sleeping.
one way to find out!]
no subject
anyway. it's too quiet, so after a long look around from the front of the shop, angela finishes putting a cute little bell up by the door to alert them of customers and goes to find the person who is supposed to be watching the front right now. she is completely unsurprised netzach ditched his position but really--
ah. there. that familiar green head. )
Just because no one's come in to do business doesn't mean you can abandon your post.

[It's only Angela's arrival that has him looking to her instead, eyebrow quirked.]
...But, where are the stories? [His head tilts, eyes squinting shut like he's thinking on this really hard.] .........I don't get it, nya.
[The bartering part, or the writing part??]

I have a few written, but they're not bound at the moment... If you can wait for a little while, I'll have them put together. ( Not exactly one of her managerial duties ever, but there are a lot of skills she still has knowledge of. She was, after all, once a superior AI... and someone who got to watch many, many people go about their lives. ) But you'll have to tell me a story first, in order to take one of mine home. That way, The Bookstore always has a stock of stories to exchange. Ingenious, isn't it?

[ Midnight holds up a freshly bound book for Angela's inspection. He listened to the instructions quite well, and in spite of the flirting, the jokes, and Midnight's complete inability to be serious, when it comes to the process itself, he's a quick and careful learner. Moreover, he's made good on the insistent declaration he made at the door, and throughout his little tour of the bookstore (which did double as a chance to be a menace to someone as cute as Angela, but it was a secondary goal, seriously): he loves books, and will work day and night to help maintain a haven for books.
Anyway, the book. It's an excellent first attempt, sturdy and neatly glued. The folios are a bit imperfectly folded, meaning the signatures aren't perfectly aligned, but it's not something that would make the book itself fall apart. Overall, the book is extremely functional. However, he should not be holding the book in the way it should, or else the half-dried glue will fall apart... but he's a baby bookbinder! Forgive him? ]
no subject
...Man, she's kind of impressed. Time to tell him her verdict-- )
The folios aren't folded correctly. Pay more attention next time. Additionally, if you don't hold it right, all your careful work will go to waste--if I hear papers hitting the floor, Midnight, you will be facing repercussions. These are people's precious stories--they aren't this city's nonsense. Take better care of our materials.
( No holding back... still. Angela sighs, moving to set it aside to dry safely and properly. )
It's passable, however. You might even get it up to "decent" with enough practice. Maybe.

OPEN | amusement park
kind of frustrating that she can't get INTO any of the rides or booths though, so eventually, she'll just make her way to the one that had intrigued her the most so she can look at it. and that ride? ...the tunnel of love, of course! )
How garish. ( for one. but for two: ) ...Do you fall in love while you're in it? How long are you in there for?
( is it, you know.......... )
no subject
oho? ohoho? the tunnel of love? ]
Have thee an interest in doing so...?
[ sorry she's just popping out from elsewhere. ]
no subject
( absolutely fucking zero. )
I've seen what it's done to other people, so I can't say I'm interested in experiencing it myself. ( well, maybe a little curious to see what it's like to love and be loved in return, instead of suffering over it. ) I presume as a Fixer you have no interest in it either.

they're pretty ordinary things, too. "smell the flowers". "purchase a book". "try that meat stew roland told me about". "explore the city". so on and so forth—regular things, not a single one meant to harm anyone or anything.
...she had almost forgotten about this list, and when she had made it. the way roland had reacted when she referred to him as her friend. she'd written these as a something to fall back on once her dream had been achieved, and certainly it had been, so maybe... just maybe... it's about time to start on them?
pick this and get a Random Ordinary Thing angela is up to—or mention where your character is and she'll be there, accomplishing something off of her list. she has a lot of things. it'll work out. )
CLOSED || for vergilius
...she might be able to get answers about other things too, if she's sneaky about it. she's a smart girl. she's used to dealing with scary colors.
all to say that she texts him a map to her bookstore, asks him to come while they're closed, and mentions she needs to speak with him about the library and its apparent book leak. the door isn't locked despite the sign being turned to "closed for today", so he'll be able to go right in and find angela sitting in a very comfy looking chair, reading a book no problem. )
no subject
[Somehow, he doesn't know whether to consider this in poor taste or not. Then again, maybe you can take a librarian out of the library, but not the library out of the librarian? Whatever. Regardless, he's not her master, she's a grown woman, and there's no horrors of man running around to get huffy about.]
[He heads over there after some time after the text, pushing the door open to greet the owner. A lady and her books. Nothing like it.]
[He stares for a brief moment, before uttering a curt:]
You're looking comfortable.
no subject
Is it strange to say that being here feels like home? ( relaxing, really. a place she has some control over... ) Thank you for coming, Vergilius. You can pull a chair up if you like. I don't think this'll be a short conversation.

FESTIVAL :: SEPTEMBER 19TH - 30TH
fearne: festival date 1
...that's silly. she knows it's silly. she recognizes it as silly. still, she figures it's better than dealing with a disappointed fearne, so—there, that.
the kissing booth. was not. one of the booths she remembers seeing when she went around the fairgrounds while it was closed? so naturally she's stopping in front of it————
somehow she isn't surprised this is fearne's idea. what's with the cat thing. she guesses she'll find out anyway, huh. )
So this is what you're up to.
no subject
You caught me!
( as if she isn't posted up exactly where people ought to see her amongst all of the excitement. still, she's quick to lean both elbows on her booth and prop her chin on her palms as she beams up at the other. )
So then? What will it be?
( she has Options. ones she flourishes at with a wave of her hand. )
Doesn't need to be anything fancy. ( the offered trinket, she means. ) It just has to be yours!

don quixote: festival date 2
anyway, they're here together now. first stop: the carousel, since don was so eager for it before... though now that angela's seeing it in action, she. doesn't know how to feel. )
So they just go up and down.
no subject
[ though
this is the first time don's seeing it in action too, and she's quiet as she watches the various creatures ride the pole. it's. a little disappointing, but she inhales and puts that aside, taking angela's hand to pull her along as it slows. ]
It is our turn! Let me see; thy favored seat was...
[ ... this one, now pulled by a pair of spiders, okay. ]

gebura: this one isn't a date
so she feels less awkward than she would with, say, yesod.
anyway, she has cotton candy for both of the. gebura doesn't have to take it when she offers it, but it's food. )
What should we do first? I've tried a few things with some ( friends? uh. ) acquaintances who were incredibly pushy about taking me to the fair already, but I'm not tired of it yet.
( ...don't give her any shit about this okay. she also can't help but start glancing up at the ferris wheel... tall. )
no subject
What haven't you done yet, then? You might not be tired of it, but you might as well try something new.

I'm discovering humans find all sorts of things fun. ( you people are so weird. well, she's human now, so maybe this too will be fun... ) Wandering around in the dark, sitting on a horse that goes up and down as you pretend to gallop in a circle... this.
( ... ... ... )
Would you like to try? It'll give us a break from walking around, at least.
no subject
...As opponents or partners?
[ Yesod glances at the bumper car battle arena. ]

midnight: i think if this one was a date someone would die
anyway angela's outside of the tunnel of love, Again. this will be her like, second time going in. maybe third. there's something fascinating about walking in the dark now that she can't see in it...
does not make bumping into someone else like two minutes into it any nicer though— )
Excuse me. ( at least she sounds politely apologetic. ) It's somewhat difficult to see in here... Are you alone as well?
someone will die! (of fun!)
