anyway. it's too quiet, so after a long look around from the front of the shop, angela finishes putting a cute little bell up by the door to alert them of customers and goes to find the person who is supposed to be watching the front right now. she is completely unsurprised netzach ditched his position but really--
ah. there. that familiar green head. )
Just because no one's come in to do business doesn't mean you can abandon your post.

[probably.
on the plus side, he's not unconscious? he's just back here with a sketchpad and charcoal, idly drawing something.]

maybe they should move some chairs over here... is that too cozy for a bookstore? well, they aren't a normal one anyway. she makes a mental note to ask gebura to help her bring some in. )
...What are you drawing?
( and please. do not get it on anything. the charcoal. please. )
no subject
[which he says not because he's being difficult but because, if she looks anyway (it's not hard, he's on the floor) he's been sketching angela while she works to set things up.]

and she kind of wishes she hadn't. not because the sketch is unflattering or bad, but it's weird to see herself like this. she doesn't know how to feel; she doesn't know what to call what she does feel. she settles on turning her gaze away quickly, even if the way she paused too long definitely tells on her having looked, and busies herself with... with wiping some dust off some nearby shelves. yes. normal. )
Alright. I'd prefer if you didn't make a habit out of drawing here though--this isn't a studio, and I'm not adding a spot for it. ( it'd need to be somewhere with some nice natural lighting, after all... right now, that's just the front. maybe she could chance being handcuffed to make another one? the east side isn't obstructed too much by the other buildings, so that might be a good place... for a reading nook. yeah. ) And I'm charging you if you get any of our books, present or future, dirty.

he's half expecting her to say something about it, complain and tell him not to draw her at all, but despite the fact she'd certainly seen it... she doesn't.
huh.]
Never got paint on the books in the Library, did I?
[so it's fine. he notably does not say he will not be drawing in here.]
no subject
well. those things were people, in the end. that makes sense, for him. these aren't though. )
No, you didn't. ( she'll... trust him, for now. and she won't necessarily ban him from art here despite discouraging him, however-- ) No drinking on the job, either.
( she is not budging from this one. )
no subject
at that last reminder, though, he just exhales a put-upon sigh.]
Yeah, yeah, I know... I'm not gonna.
[it's fine, at least this job is... better than the last.]

For the record... this goes for all staff members, and for any kind of drink. It's not just me being particularly mean to you.
( she is often particularly mean to him, for personality and embarrassment reasons, but not this time.
this shelf is now more than clean, and angela stares at it. purses her lips. )
...Anyway, you can go back to drawing. I'm going to record a story I heard the other day.
( and with that she'll leave to get some paper--
but she'll be back, actually, albeit she seats herself in a much more advantageous position as far as the door is concerned. close enough to him to still talk idly if they want, but not so much that it feels... like they have to.
yes. it is a little awkward, just like all of her efforts have been--doubly so for her personally, but at least they're efforts. it's not like she can sqaunder her second chance, even if it feels like she really shouldn't be allowed it. )
