this is the first time don's seeing it in action too, and she's quiet as she watches the various creatures ride the pole. it's. a little disappointing, but she inhales and puts that aside, taking angela's hand to pull her along as it slows. ]

It is our turn! Let me see; thy favored seat was...

[ ... this one, now pulled by a pair of spiders, okay. ]

This. Or whilst thee join me upon a steed?

No, I'll be fine with this.

( the spiders are charming in their own way. she'll take her seat, crossing her ankles. )

...Are you sure you don't wish to join me?

[ oh, she's been asked to join. don stands there for a moment, perhaps a little awkward (smile small but forcibly there, eyes giving nothing as she remains quiet) before she steps closer to sit next to angela, hands in her lap as the carousel begins its obnoxious twirl. ]

I could hardly refuse the offer from a proper lady such as thyself, Angela! It is not rare that we spend time in the presence of one another as of late, but to be one on one is a different matter entirely! Like this, it feels as if we are just two young women with hardly a care in the world, does it not? And it is rather funny, as well, to watch others go up and down on the poles whilst we remain pleasantly seated! Why, it is so calming, one could read a book or three!

I'm impressed if you can. While I don't necessarily need silence ( actually she likes it when there's a little ambience of chatter— ) this is much too loud.

( so loud... but it is nice to sit. )

...Regardless, ( ahem, ) you could've still refused. There's no need to force yourself to sit with me.

I am not forced to sit with thee, my companion. There is no one bending mine arm, nor putting a blade to my neck to do so.

[ don peers off the side as they move, resting on the wood. ]

In fact, I found myself rather touched by thine offer, and so I wished to accept it! That is all, Angela. 'Tis nothing more, nor nothing less.

Isn't it normal for someone to offer you a seat? Don't put so much stock into it.

( hmph... angela leans back a bit so she can watch them move too, gazing impassively at the essentially empty fairgrounds. is this more exciting when there are more people? how vibrant in color and lights, and yet... )

...I had wanted to see a normal carnival, ( she says after a moment, ) but how disappointing that it has to be one like this.

Meager as the turnout is, [ for it is... well, not everyone in the city is here anyway, ] it is very much a normal carnival.

Is it merely the lack of people that disappoints thee? I had wished to hear the calls for food and rides as well, but we are truly the only ones that are here.

I wouldn't say I'm overly fond of being around people ( she is easily overwhelmed still ) but... it's too quiet.
