[OPEN] Let's experiment on the experiment...ers.
WHO: Tsuruno Yui (
fanstheflames), (
strongroots), and YOU.
WHAT: Spreading word about the experiment
WHERE: Around the City! Outside your apartment, in your face-- But also a portion of it at the Welcome Diner
WHEN: From early October to before the City event on the 19th!
WARNINGS: None!
There's a pair on a mission--and hopefully, a pair capable of wrangling some of their friends to join in on sharing out some fliers they've made for an experiment. But as it is, you may meet this pair when they knock at the door of where you're staying, or while you're out on the streets! Each with a friendly face, from the boy's calm nod and "Hey--you got a minute?" or the girl's [description here].
Or you've escaped meeting them in person, but found their flier slipped under the door of where you're staying. And on it reads...
PLEASE READ! A group of us want to hold an experiment on how the city will react if we don't go to a new location immediately or any event it runs. The newsletter they gave out mentioned a Halloween party, and the report in the office also mentioned a test running from the 19th to 31st of October.
What happens if we run our own party in this timeframe? What happens if we don't take part in their experiments? We should test how they react.
Don't talk about this on the network. Come to the Welcome Diner if you want to find out more. We want to hold a meeting with everyone about this plan on the 14th at the diner.
Let's see how willing they are to act.
If you come to the Welcome Diner, Robby Keene and Tsuruno Yui can be found, especially during the first week and a half of the month; others, too, with the activity taking place there. But the pair are usually behind the counter, or Robby.
Take any of the above locations -- outside your character's apartment, on the streets, or the Welcome Diner -- as a place to bump into them, or to be bumped into.
[ lookie here. ]
[ OOC: Hi this is an IC post on the subject of experimenting with city events. Both Robby and Tsuruno can talk with your character, or if you would prefer one or the other, make a note of it in the subject! ]

[ PROMPT 1: FOR BUMPING INTO, BE BUMPED INTO! ]

PROMPT 2: MEETING TALK GOES HERE
(One is standing on a chair. Yes, it's Tsuruno Yui.) ]
Hey. [ It's the boy–Robby Keene–who speaks up first. ] So, the fliers we handed out covers our idea. Every time we can enter some new place, something's up with it: the bank vault with personal belongings that made us share our stories, or the mall that had us chased down and see death.
We wanna know what happens if enough of us stay back and don't go to anything like this that shows up this month. If they won't react, or will.
Right, what Robby said! [ And there’s Tsuruno, lively as always and gesturing grandly at–who? You? Probably! ] Given the stuff with the university, it feels pretty obvious by now that we’re being tested.
If you think it’s too risky or don’t want anything to do with this, that’s fine. But if you think it sounds good or worth a shot, we’d be happy to have you! All you really have to do is not check out this party of theirs.
Sound good?
[ Robby nods after her, if angled to a side. ] Right. We can have our own party with a Halloween theme that won't drive us crazy, or stay at home. See if it matters.
[ OOC: As this is meant to be a meeting, feel free to treat it as one if you like with characters talking about the subject with one another. Or just talk about it with Tsuruno and Robby like it's one-on-one!! Whatever is easiest for everyone. 👍 ]

Well, I can't say they're making the best impression on those who've just arrived with news like that. Thank you the gist of what you've experienced so far, though I wouldn't mind some specific examples if others don't mind sharing it.
[ Setting that aside. He'll sip his coffee. ]
That said, I'll be glad to keep a distance if it's been so terrible. The parties I'm used to are more of a formal affair... [ There's no way he's not one of the Colors that actually attends. Attended. ] So I'm looking forward to a more casual one. Anything I can do to help out?
no subject
Nevertheless! ] How familiar are you with Halloween? Different people, different worlds--gotta ask.
[ You know, in case it sounds a dumb question to the newcomer. ]

I want to lend a hand, but last I checked we were one doctor down. With that in mind, I might wait it out at first just to make sure I'm free in case I'm needed.
Suppose I'll be playing it by ear, then.

You know how many doctors we have in the city?

OTA if anyone wants to chime in!
The fact that plucky teens are running this meeting is a surprise, but ... all right, Mystery Inc., she's listening. ]
Hate to say it, but staying at home seems more likely to mess with any plans. Whoever or whatever runs this place wants to build community, see what happens when we're grouped up. Isolation would be the opposite of that.
no subject
Maybe they won't care. [ A small shrug at that. ] But it sure won't be going to the place they want their experiment.

On top of standard party preparations, we should think of safety precautions as well, especially considering what we've learned from our experience at the mall. Means of communication should our terminals drop signal, for one thing... If we are somehow locked in, there needs to be some means of letting someone on the outside know.
no subject
I guess that'd only be useful at a certain distance, though...

[ Yuki has taken to sitting on one of the tables with her legs crossed, a little too antsy to sit properly. It's a reasonable idea to not engage in whatever experiment is planned for them, when almost all of them have gone so awry. Better than people punching each other to death too. ]
If you're interested, I can set-up a barrier on the outside of the building. I don't know how far I can stretch it at my current power, but it's designed to keep unwanted parties out. If something breaks it, I'll be the first to know.

this is one on one HELICOPTER DAD IS ALWAYS ONE ON ONE!!!!
And though the man would already be here in the first place, considering how much time he's spent in the location, he definitely would have made sure to be present for the meeting. Not that he's piping up much, instead just.. staying to the edges of it, pretending like he's busy cleaning up, when he's actually very much listening in on it all. N-Not getting in the way of your business, kids!! D-Don't mind him, h-haha!!
Though Daniel inevitably does approach him. He just waits until the meeting is more or less over, most other people having left already - casually cleaning his hands with a towel, but the look on his face is enough to suggest his mood is a little more serious.
(As if that wouldn't be obvious. Really, these two know Daniel well enough by now, right.) ]
So.. how likely do you two think it is for there to be something risky about this? [ Yes, of course that's what he's addressing. ]
*swishswishswishswishswish goes the helicopter dad*
Because Mister LaRusso has that look, and Robby's been feeling slightly--unsure, since speaking with Midnight in particular. And he's had a few reservations before this, but having Mister LaRusso come and be the one to say what he's wondering is...not the best candidate for this. Like, come on. Anyone else would have been easier.
It means Robby takes a second to answer, as if that's really going to help his case. But it's at least only a second, one he uses to lick his lips, before: ] There might be some risk, but we don't know if there will be--this is the first time anyone's done something like this. But no one's gotten punished for staying back when they've done things before. And we just want people to stay away from whatever the city's gonna do.
[ Please focus on that point than absolutely any other that might be more worrisome, Mister LaRusso. ]

The only other person he really recognizes there is Johanna, but he doesn’t move to sit with her, instead opting to sit off by himself. At very least the plan these two children have come up with could cause some chaos, and that at least has Loki’s attention, even if he does not actively participate in this meeting.]
