[ PROMPT 1: FOR BUMPING INTO, BE BUMPED INTO! ]

There's a pair on a mission--and hopefully, a pair capable of wrangling some of their friends to join in on sharing out some fliers they've made for an experiment. But as it is, you may meet this pair when they knock at the door of where you're staying, or while you're out on the streets! Each with a friendly face, from the boy's calm nod and "Hey--you got a minute?" or the girl's [description here].

Or you've escaped meeting them in person, but found their flier slipped under the door of where you're staying. And on it reads...

PLEASE READ!A group of us want to hold an experiment on how the city will react if we don't go to a new location immediately or any event it runs. The newsletter they gave out mentioned a Halloween party, and the report in the office also mentioned a test running from the 19th to 31st of October.

What happens if we run our own party in this timeframe? What happens if we don't take part in their experiments? We should test how they react.

Don't talk about this on the network. Come to the Welcome Diner if you want to find out more. We want to hold a meeting with everyone about this plan on the 14th at the diner.

Let's see how willing they are to act.

If you come to the Welcome Diner, Robby Keene and Tsuruno Yui can be found, especially during the first week and a half of the month; others, too, with the activity taking place there. But the pair are usually behind the counter, or Robby.

Take any of the above locations -- outside your character's apartment, on the streets, or the Welcome Diner -- as a place to bump into them, or to be bumped into.

Why don't you give me the rundown now, and I'll see if there's any suggestions I can make before you pitch it to a group.

[It is both useful to have someone review your proposal before submitting it, and then he doesn't really have to attend a meeting. Win-win.]

We wanna hold a party around the same time that the university is holding theirs and see if we can convince people to stay away from the other one. Or even just stay home or go somewhere else entirely.

It'd be harder for them to pull an experiment if they don't have enough people there, right?

[ There's a twitch of a smile from Robby at Alhaitham's cleverness option, but, he'll follow after Tsuruno. ]

The party will be a way of seeing if the people behind this will react to us throwing a similar party they do, or if they're gonna do nothing about it. They've never reacted to anything we've done before -- but we haven't had a lot of ways to push back. A Halloween party's easy to make up.

[ Compared to terrorising people in malls. ]

So, the people who don't want a party can stay at home, and the more adventurous people can come for a night out.

[Oh good. Alhaitham was going to stay home anyway but at least it won't be a hassle to announce he's not attending a party.]

And the party itself? So far tests have always been on the 19th. Is that the decided date for your event?

That's kinda what we were aiming for, yeah.

[ wow Alhaitham she can't believe you don't want to hang out with her. Which is what she's going to assume when YOU DON'T SHOW UP--no. ]

Or at least have things on hand if that's what ends up happening. Maybe they'll decide to be weird and throw it on the 21st or something.

It won't be hard to put one together on the day. We don't have to worry about food or location or the equipment a place like this.

But we're expecting the 19th.

If that's the case you could repurpose any one of the restaurants to avoid having to transport any food.

[Still, he nods to Tsuruno.] They could change the date that their experiment occurs to undermine your distraction. In that case, would you use the network after all to disseminate the change of plans or will you keep it to word of mouth?

You probably won't be hosting a party for six days, so it's imperative that you're ready on the first one for the greatest impact.

I think I'd rather keep it word of mouth, but maybe there's a way to make use of the network through some kind of code or subtlety if we've gotta.

Don't worry--we're not going to let them upstage us!

[ This is a very protag declaration, apparently. ]

[ Alhaitham's got a point, and Robby considers it as Tsuruno voices her own position. Hm. ]

We can always make a post right before we're ready. [ That's a thought. ] We were avoiding the network to see if it made a difference. But if they haven't come for us before then... [ A shrug! ]

Coast is clear?

A coded network message is an option. You'll have to share it at your meeting, of course. [So people know what they're looking out for.] Have you considered the physical proximity to the university? Are you intending to hold your party close to it, or far?

... Honestly, I kind of think maybe further away might be better? I don't know if it's got like a... how do I put it, like an area of influence?

[strongroots]

And if people are going to the university anyway, our party isn't gonna stop them. They're not going for the atmosphere.

[ So the placement of the party doesn't seem to be important, for either of their purposes. ]

[Alhaitham nods to Tsuruno.] That's a reasonable concern. Previous incidents appeared to be largely contained within the building but I don't believe anyone actually tested their perimeter to be certain. Besides that, being too close may tempt those with poor impulse control.

In that case, most people would have settled in districts one and two, so your party becomes more convenient taking over a building there.

[ This is a compliment, coming from Alhaitham, and Tsuruno smiles at him. ]

Got it. I'll do some scouting around the districts soon to see if we can find a place that'll fit the bill. I don't think it'll be that hard and I can report back to Robby!
