INFO MEETING
[In Setsuna's absence but wanting to continue the usefulness of the info-sharing Secret Meetings, Junpei has taken it upon himself to spread the word about the newest physical meeting place. As before, nondescript handwritten flyers are posted around the most heavily trafficked areas of the city (with a scattering more in apartment buildings and less-popular areas), all reading roughly the same thing:

Infosharing time again. Under new management?

Come as you are, buzzkills only allowed if they bring snacks. 2nd floor conference room in the office building across from the bank.

It was cool when Setsuna could leave his mysterious network username but unfortunately Junpei is still living with his fool-ass choices... Regardless. It's dated for the afternoon of the 14th, and on the day of, Junpei has brought paper and writing supplies and a clipboard and a cardboard box for fun later to the conference room.

He's holding the clipboard because it makes him feel important, and occasionally flipping pages to squint at it while people wander in. Eventually:]

Uh, hey—Junpei here. If you were here last time, you know what this is about already, buuut if you weren't: we're planning, more or less. All of our information is spread around, so... this is an effort to get it all in as many heads as possible, when more of us inevitably disappear without a trace overnight.

[Ahem. Okay,] Last time we were also planning some projects, and Setsuna was going to help me make a drone to explore the parts of the city we can't physically get to, but he's gone, so... I'm taking applications for Drone Team?

[ heine feels like he's learning the lay of the land of don's weird city in fits and starts, cobbled together from the crumbs of lore she drops in the middle of other conversations. it's an interesting way to learn more about someone.

he's not about to put her on blast for being afraid of the dark, or whatever it is that motivates her not to want to dig graves at night. to give her an out, heine observes, ] Nah, daytime's better. That way we can go eat when we're done.

[ if they start in the early afternoon they'll be done by dinnertime, easy. not that heine eats on much of a schedule other than "when he feels like it." ]

That... is true as well! I cannot sleep on an empty stomach, so daytime it is!

[ since she does wanna eat out with him again. what a good kind young man he is, don seems to relax more because of it. ]

Oh, but the Sweepers... they are not exactly a clean up crew, but scavangers? I suppose thee could call them. They walk the Backstreets for an hour and twenty one minutes exact, at the same time each night, and consume those whom have been left outside.

Oh. [ damn. that's... a few shades more intense than anything heine's immediately familiar with from his own city, and also more intense than anything else don's mentioned so far. at least with the bus fuel, they're foes and almost dead ones at that; having a crew of scanvengers who just straight up eats people in the backstreets feels like a lot. ] I hear human tastes like pork.

I guess you'd better stay inside for that hour and twenty minutes if you don't want to end up dinner.

One should already be asleep when that time has come! No one save the villainous remain awake so late! Be sure to be in bed before the clock strikes three, Heine, for one cannot be well-rested after that!

I do not think they would taste of pork, however, for there is... or there was, a Star of the City who specialized in the preparation of their meals, and it would seem, ehm, that the flavor was more alike to a sponge.

Ow— [ it's just one kick, but it gets heine in the knee, and he shoots don quixote a sulky look as he leans down to rub it. ] I have bad news about me being a villain, then.

[ because ya boi is not a good sleeper, and is often awake at three. either still awake or already awake, depending on the day and the nightmare. (it's easier now that he and badou share the pull-out, although heine would drop dead before admitting this aloud to either don quixote or badou himself.) ]

Bummer for the Sweepers, though. Having to eat leftovers and it tastes terrible?

[ the way she's going to struggle to stay awake so she can start texting him around 3 in the morning reminding him to wind down for sleep. maybe she'll offer to tell a story every now and then. cute about the pull-out though she gets it, it was easier to sleep in sinclair's room when they had some struggles every now and then too.

[ he's happy to leave the topic alone in favor of the laffy taffy, which is a whole new experience for heine. he takes it out of the wrapper and eyes it suspiciously, because what the hell kind of candy looks like this? it feels like dried glue.

but it also smells like green apple, which isn't bad, so after a second heine pops the taffy into his mouth and smooths out the wrapper so he can read it.

in a solemn voice: ] What bug has the best etiquette?

[ they have butterflies in hers i. i guess they might have ladybugs. in the nest areas anyway. has she seen one? maybe by now. can she draw it? up to debate.

the punchline makes her giggle though, grinning widely as she peers for one herself and reads it over before she opens the cherry to enjoy. if she gets a joke she's giving one!!! ]
