(open) infodump meeting
WHO: jumpy
coolerjunpei and OPEN
WHAT: The sequel to the prior secrets/infosharing meeting. Also, separately: Art Club.
WHERE: A conference room in an office building. Art Club is in a random apartment near City Hall.
WHEN: Sept. 14-15
WARNINGS: kromer probably. tba on the rest
INFO MEETING
[In Setsuna's absence but wanting to continue the usefulness of the info-sharing Secret Meetings, Junpei has taken it upon himself to spread the word about the newest physical meeting place. As before, nondescript handwritten flyers are posted around the most heavily trafficked areas of the city (with a scattering more in apartment buildings and less-popular areas), all reading roughly the same thing:
Infosharing time again. Under new management?
Come as you are, buzzkills only allowed if they bring snacks. 2nd floor conference room in the office building across from the bank.
junpei
It was cool when Setsuna could leave his mysterious network username but unfortunately Junpei is still living with his fool-ass choices... Regardless. It's dated for the afternoon of the 14th, and on the day of, Junpei has brought paper and writing supplies and a clipboard and a cardboard box for fun later to the conference room.
He's holding the clipboard because it makes him feel important, and occasionally flipping pages to squint at it while people wander in. Eventually:]
Uh, hey—Junpei here. If you were here last time, you know what this is about already, buuut if you weren't: we're planning, more or less. All of our information is spread around, so... this is an effort to get it all in as many heads as possible, when more of us inevitably disappear without a trace overnight.
[Ahem. Okay,] Last time we were also planning some projects, and Setsuna was going to help me make a drone to explore the parts of the city we can't physically get to, but he's gone, so... I'm taking applications for Drone Team?
[..........,]
That's all I've got. Let's mingle and do some info-magic.
(OOC PORTION: hello, please treat this as a FREE MINGLE and post TLs to your heart's content. Infosharing is the main goal but if you want to recruit ICly for a Project, feel free!! There are also SNACKS ABOUND. enjoy.)

Wait, you went back home to the same moment? For real?
no subject
[ she would never!!! not about this anyway. ]
For those who are facing their imminent demise, I am sorry. [ unless you're kromer get fucked ] But I do not lie. It was as if nothing had happened, as if no time had past.
[ ...
there's something else, but she's keeping it to herself. something else hinges on that particular piece of information. ]
no subject
[it's great news?? it changes literally everything he assumed about what's going on back home, but in a way that isn't imminently terrible--now he doesn't have to worry about going back home and accidentally SHIFTing another version of himself back here to get... macy's murdered, or whatever.
he leans back from the table to do a brief victory spin in his chair. wow!!!]
We should probably figure out how that works, but later. Huh... [hmm.] Did you remember being here, when you were back there? I usually remember the other histories, but this place's rules don't make any sense...
no subject
Um, yes. I did recall this place somewhat.
[ she did not. but there's someone here who absolutely cannot know that, and so...
... she doesn't like to lie, but if it's to protect... ]
no subject
[it's all weird, for one thing!!! but he's satisfied with that answer, at least. lie... undetected.]
But hey, still good news! And you came back normal!
no subject
[ though some people wouldn't say she's normal in the first place. anyway. ]
Oh, I do have a bountiful amount! Remind me later and I shall spin thee many a tale, or... [ ... oho. she can be a good employee for SOMEONE today!!!!! ] I ask that thee swing down to Miss Angela's Bookstore, for while I am not supposed to tell stories there I believe she'll allow me to do so for a good friend such as thyself, Junpei.
[ angela's gonna be soooooooo happy she's shilling her bookstore she's gonna get such a good grade SOMEWHERE ]
no subject
How many of these bountiful tales are going to give me nightmares...? [not that he. won't listen. but he'll make some popcorn to offset the horrors if he can. and oh-]
Sure, though, I can come by. Is she calling it "Bookstore"? Like "Library"?
[womp... no one tell angela about this implied roast.]
no subject
[ ... for what it's worth... ]
And yes! The Bookstore. It is charming, isn't it? I rather like the name myself!
[ she looooves the fact it's called the bookstore but it isn't a real store because there's no currencyyyyy ]
no subject
[has he made his stupid point. he's going to get murdered for his roast crimes one day... if he ever makes the connection himself that it's Technically not really a store just like the library is Technically not one, he'll never let it go.]
Never mind that though. How kind are we talking here? Like, a good ending?
no subject
[ ... she misses yi sang and them already. seeing everyone again just worsened her homesickness, maybe, but she'll smile regardless. no time for that quixote. ]
And even, may I say... A new SHIFT to speak of.
[ thank goodness only (?) her and junpei know the terminology she can talk about her company secret business right in front of people ]
no subject
that said, oh, a new shift... he leans his elbow on the table, scooting his chair closer conspiratorially.]
Well, you know I've gotta hear about the new SHIFT. How'd it go?
no subject
Ever have I been an agent of justice, dear Junpei, but in this-- in this I was one in absolute truth! I was able to do as I pleased, acted with others in mind, all because...
[ a beat, and she seems just a little disheartened. ]
Because I had made peace with what had to be done, and played by the rules of the City; I offered my services for a fee, but would see it done before I thrust any debt onto someone. But I was still able to act for the people, and to protect those that I could.
[ so. one of the better ones, in her opinion. that much is obvious. ]
She -- I -- was very fast, and acted as a duelist. Glove thrown and all!
no subject
Damn, throwing the glove is real old school. So, what, people hired you to... be a bodyguard? Or are we talking duel-only, one and done?
no subject
[ look at these. names. numbers. ]
I would set off in the morrow, searching for squabbles, and from there offer my allegiance to whom I saw fit! I fight for justice, and the protection of those weaker than their foes, it is only that I take payment that irks me somewhat.
[ justice ought to be free. but if that's how she's accepted it there -- it isn't a bad compromise, all things considered. it works. she was smart enough to handle it that way, and it isn't as if she's the type to ask absorbent amounts from the "clients" she accepts... ]
It... is not an improbable SHIFT, nor am I truly unhappy with it; nay, I think that it may be one of the better I have experienced, and closest to my goal. I am satisfied with it.
no subject
Huh, so more like... a private detective, but strictly for duels. [this is the best he can do to contextualize it into a thing he can understand as a Real Job someone might have-] I bet you won every duel, huh? Did you get to kick any ass when you were SHIFTed in there?
[he can hear the tiniest note of dismay and self-justification in there, so. skip that. put all those complex shift feelings on a shelf somewhere and tell him about a cool duel.]
no subject
Plenty! Oh, there was no one more adored than I, looked upon and admired, the striking blue ever a reminder of what justice was upon those streets... It was rather fun, though I must ask thee something that both I now and then were confused by. Why, when spoken to clearly, would some gain such redness in their face? If they are not in the wrong, then why would they become so angered at my challenge of a duel?
[ because they are in the wrong and they know it, isn't it? ]
