[MINGLE, ESPECIALLY TO NEWCOMERS] ROOFTOP FESTIVITIES!!!
WHO: All!
WHAT: Rooftop festivities!
WHERE: On a rooftop of an office building in the second open district!
WHEN: 8/14, evening!
WARNINGS: alcohol, tba as it goes

Banner displayed inside the train station, outside city hall, and on the most used residence buildings.
Follow the arrows.
So you're unaware. Maybe new. Or maybe you just didn't care the first time you saw it. That's fine. Between the banners hanging around key areas, and the flyers quickly drawn up in a similar fashion scattered across the city, it's hard not to know something is going on -- and there's helpful arrows, chalked on building walls and the streets the day of the party, to let people know where to go.
The Rooftop

A splendid scene awaits those who travel heavensward. Fairy lights connect the corners of the roof access building to metal poles at the corners of the building itself, lifted by cylindrical supports where needed, each one held straight by pots filled with well-packed dirty and stone. There's multicolored stars hanging from some of the lights, while various painted flowers hang on others, and what greets the ears first is some royalty free party music played from a CD player off the the side.
There's a long folded out table in the center for those who'd like to share cuisine, just set and serve yourself! Nearby is a space for Daan to do some bartending as well, a man who can make a multitude of cocktails and mocktails for those who want something less alcoholic. Also, pints of various ice cream flavors in a cooler!
Don't worry -- they won't have any odd effects on them, Don verified the lack of them herself. Not all of them are normal. Think loaded baked potato weird.
For those who'd like a quieter space, there's beanbags and a swirly, fuzzy carpet to sit on more away from the center of the party area. This'll be a great time to play some games, such as truth or dare, spin the bottle, and... whatever else you play at parties. Get to know your fellow man and such. Play the violin.
Naturally, no party... hosted... by Don Quixote would be without a space to fight, if one wishes to show off a little! It's also taking place on a swirly fuzzy carpet, just so no one smashes their head in, and there's a neat little banner hanging down from a string of lights that says thus:
WIN THREE MATCHES AND A PRIZE AWAITS THEE!!!!!!!
- NO KILLING
- HANDS ONLY
What the prize is, no one knows. But come find Don Quixote with your battle scars and she'll grant it -- and stick around a while, 'cause this party's gonna end with a bang... that is, with homemade fireworks donated by "a friend" through Junpei.
Anyway, have fun!!! Share words about your worlds!!! The society your characters are from, the cuisine they've brought, how they're working out in the city -- help the new kids along, too. There's more vets here now than there were a few months ago, after all.

[ Midnight means that, too. He says it with a little amusement, yes, but his love for the range of human experience extends to that which he doesn't understand, too. ]
Are you a guardian of some sort, then? A chaperone? How in the world did you come to find this party?
no subject
[HELLO???????]
[He snorts.]
I saw the obnoxious flyers. Thought it was someone I knew who was behind this. And here I am.
no subject
[ Midnight laughs. ]
I'm Midnight. You're no priest, I already know that. Just someone who rejects the joys of hedonism. I do like that. Tell me all about it. What joys do you experience in your patient stoicism?
no subject
[Hmmph.]
I experience the nice joy of not having to deal with obnoxious people on the regular. A shame that life keeps throwing that at me.
no subject
[ Said immediately, with the confidence reserved for big fish in small ponds and idiots. Is it one of the above or just drunken arrogance? Man, who knows. ]
I'd have words with life if it brought me that much grief, personally. Or does your asceticism extend to a teeth-gritted tolerance of a wide variety of injustices as well?

[doubt.jpg]
Depends on what you mean by "injustices".

I'm waiting to see if you offer anything else besides acting like a smug little peacock. But honestly, you are interested in me, and I don't really know why.
no subject
Right now? I like you because you're not pretending. I like it when people tell me the truth. It's much simpler than trying to navigate around someone very kind but too afraid to tell me how they feel or what they think. Not much more complicated than that, I think.
no subject
[He seems to consider that for a moment, glancing out to the crowd. A moment of silence, before he starts to shift past Midnight to the bar.]
I'm going to get a drink.
[Oh, seems like there's progress? He isn't telling Midnight not to join him, at least?]
no subject
Tell me what your order is. I'll remember it.
no subject
[A little shake of the head, his bangs cascading over his bright eyes.]
Something strong. That's all. Like whiskey or something.
no subject
Not complicated, no. Just... specific. Not picky or choosy. You seem like you already know exactly what you like, is all.
no subject
[He's not exactly the type to be superfluous.]
...What about you? What's your poison?
no subject
[ Midnight laughs. Would he play games like this while sober? Yes, probably. ]
I'm not picky. Most champagnes will do me, but I like trying new things when I can.
no subject
[GIVING HIM A "ARE U BEING SRS" LOOK....and letting out a sigh.]
Champagne fits you. I'm guessing big loud parties are your style, too.
no subject
They are. Grand occasions where people can talk, play games, learn about each other. Refreshments. I don't need much else in life, honestly.
[ He does realize other people need other things — fewer people for introverts and so on — but parties make him happy. As many as he can fit into a day! ]
no subject
Guess you're the kind of guy who can't stand yourself. Or boredom. Or both.
no subject
[ He doesn't say it, but it's clear Midnight finds himself fascinating. Of course he does. ]
no subject
Do you think you have any flaws? Even one.
no subject
[ Very prompt, glib answer. But he's drunk, so his instinct just to leave it there battles with his other instinct to be honest. It loses this time... He pauses, thinking. How about from the bottom of his head? ]
Used to be a poor judge of character. Bad at reading emotion. I've improved at both, though.
no subject
[Hm.]
[He stares at Midnight for a long moment, red eyes boring in.]
Something like that will eat you in the end. People will take advantage of it. Good on you for fixing it, though if you're interacting with me, I suppose you still need to work on it.
no subject
What's to say I don't like what I see?
[ Have his friends begged him to have higher standards? Well... Generally, his friends don't meet the people he should have higher standards for. This is deliberate. ]
