[Brook answers without even wondering why Nikolai isn't familiar with the term, too busy roaming the room. Modern technology wasn't something he was familiar with, either, when he first returned to the land of the living.]

A photo... I forget what it's short for. It's a kind of picture. Like a painting, but it's made instantly. Like this.

[He turns, takes his phone from his pocket, and snaps a picture of Nikolai as he looks, bathed in the installation's green light. In contrast to Nikolai's faultless manners and social grace, Brook doesn't even look up as he wanders back over to show him his snap.]

But the one I found was printed out. Like, on paper.

[Only when he reaches Nikolai's side do the visual differences in here catch his attention. He pauses, studying the photo he just took, and then looks up at Nikolai. Again: down, then up.]

[Someone with proper socialization probably wouldn't ask, or at least, not like this. There'd at least be some softening introduction, like, "Can I ask you a weird question?" Unfortunately, Nikolai's dealing with Brook. His eyes look far too much like a rabbit's right now, large and staring and pink.]
