The odd thing about that was Loki actually was the thing that went bump in the night, at least to some. Whether it was people still affected by his attack on New York, or people from back home who still thought of the Jotun as monsters, Loki very much had the ability to scare people if he so chose. He just hadn’t really felt like it lately. Even a trickster god could grow up a bit, he supposed.
Loki waved the man’s concern off. “No apology necessary. I was simply distracted. It is uncommon for someone to take me by surprise, but not unheard of.” He truly isn’t bothered, though that might be because he does not sense any threat in the other man.
“It seems no one I have met around here is from here, though admittedly I have only come across a few.” Loki couldn’t decide what was more concerning, that the population was much more scarce than should be considering the size of the buildings or that no one here was from here and could simply tell them what was happening. “I also found it strange that the train was completely empty. Even with only a small number of people here now, you would think at least some of us had come in on the same train.” Loki was becoming more and more certain that magic was involved with all of this, though he hadn’t sensed anything familiar.
“I’m afraid I have not. Though it is odd that there seems to be nothing living here except for plant life and the very few like us who have just arrived. Nothing that points to how or why we are here.”
