there have been plenty of times, after all, that they have been present when everyone else aboard Mephistopheles have been enjoying a meal. they never feel left out or upset by this; really, they're just a little bit mystified by it. it makes them yearn for their memories, but in a completely different sort of way than normal. regardless of what type of food it might be, they will just look at it and wonder what it might have tasted like... what is taste even like, really?
they just can't remember. but the Sinners, vergilius, and charon really seem to enjoy eating... hell, even the bus seems to enjoy eating (???). so maybe they do feel a little left out, even if they can't remember what it is that they're now without. )
< It's probably the former, I think... >
( still... it's nice for roland to be so understanding? dante might not have any recollection about why they had either decided upon the procedure or on this head in particular (except perhaps a vague sense that they had done it to keep certain information from falling into the wrong hands?), but it's nice to know they wouldn't be judged for... whatever they had been thinking in that moment.
they decide not to comment on it further. it feels like a topic that they would quickly find themself running around of not really having the best answers to give. )
< They're... um... >
( I'M SORRY ROLAND NO ONE TELLS THEM ANYTHING!! but they're going to try their best, thinking back to what they remember from their notes. )
< In the company that I work for, I'm considered the Executive Manager for twelve individuals as part of a certain division within it. "Sinner" is just a term used to describe those twelve people that I manage. >
( that's... about as much as they can remember. slowly, their shoulders droop, their clock-like head hanging slightly. ) < I'm sorry I can't be more specific... I tried asking Vergilius about why they are called that once, but he basically never answers my questions... >
