[ OPEN ] July Catch-all
WHO: Will Byers (
willtheunwise) & OTA
WHAT: Catch-all for July,
WHERE: Various locations
WHEN: Through July
WARNINGS: Some talk of monsters, death and maybe kidnapping, typical Stranger Things/horror canon stuff
1. Sketching
After getting very involved in chalking Will has realised that in order to keep himself sane he needs art supplies. For now that’s a plain notepad and a HB pencil but it’s good enough and he can often be found sat in various city locations sketching whatever takes his fancy. That could be anything from buildings to trees and flowers or dependent on how interesting you look or what you’re up to is you.
If you approach him he will certainly startle like he wasn’t expecting to be noticed at all but it’s not too hard to convince him to stop for a chat or show you his artwork.
2. Mall
The last time Will was really at a mall was when the hivemind sent a huge meat monster version of his worst nightmares after him and his friends. His sister lost her powers, her father was seemingly killed and his friends possessed older brother died in front of him. Malls have bad memories attached. But still after snooping through what he could of the city before the second district opened up he still hasn’t located anywhere to get decent art supplies or records so he’s trying to be brave about it.
He can’t be found standing staring up at it quite blankly, disassociating a little, maybe breathing a little unevenly as he tries to convince himself that he can manage to go inside alone.
3. Convenience Store daytime
It sure is mighty convenient to be living so close to a convenience store and Will has been taking advantage by mostly feeding himself on snacks and soda because if he’s really honest he’s rarely had to fend for himself because Jonathan was always there in some capacity and when he wasn’t available Will was over at a friends house so his cooking skills are almost non-existent. He can often be found sitting on the counter and if you’re in there looking for anything specific he probably knows where it is.
4. Convenience Store night time
On occasion Will has been known to forget to feed himself, especially when he’s been busy scrolling through the network and sketching and generally behaving like a total shut in so it’s not unusual for him for him to be in the store late at night, since it seems to be open at all hours.
He’s only ever been in there alone though, so when he hears something else in there he creeps round the edge of the shelf he’s just been raiding thinking he’s being really sneaky and it’s definitely not going to freak him out. Of course when he does see someone he startles and the bags of chips in his arms go flying causing a crinkly racket as they hit the ground.
“Shit, sorry, shit…” Will looks at the mess then up at the other person, “I wasn’t expecting anyone else in here so late.”
5. Wildcard
Hit me with anything or shoot me a PM or find me here on Plurk
unwisewizard for plotting or closed starters or anything else!
Happy to match format also so if you have a preference for brackets I’ll match that!

[ But there's only so much sitting around she can do and she'd never been one for that. With Peter and Gamora both here things feel... strangled, wrong, and there's some issues those two need to sort out. She'd rather not be around for it, so taking to the streets is all she can do. ]
[ Terran convenience stores aren't something she has great familiarity with, but she's found there's a variety of drinks that are to her taste. She'd meant to grab one of those when a young boy - sorry Will - startles out of some sneaking behaviour. Unfortunately for him, she's not good with kids and her brow arches up: ]
You're here, aren't you?

1. Sketching!
He mostly stays alone in the apartment that another boy helped him find. Holed up where it's safe (not that anywhere really is), staying in the living room most of the time. He doesn't like being in the bedrooms. He's closed those doors, pushed a coat rack in front of one. He doesn't want to hear the creaking sound doors make when they open.
But sometimes he wanders out of the apartment. Often it isn't truly of his own accord, roaming the city in a strange fugue state, like some haunting thing.
He finds himself out there now, blinking in the sunlight, confused. How long has he been here? Where is he...? Peter walks slowly, tall form moving like a spectre, too quiet. When he spots someone sitting on a bench up ahead, he freezes in place for a moment, but— ....it's a young boy. Maybe around his age, or a little younger. He hesitates a beat or two before drawing closer, and when the boy startles like that, Peter flinches in response.
"Sorry— I'm sorry." He looks bad. The bandage on his freshly-broken nose has been replaced with a new one by now, but it's still swollen and bruised, and dark purple blossoms beneath his eyes. They're held wide, looking as nervous of the boy as the boy is of him.
"I didn't mean to scare you."

Especially someone so young. If Will has any snacks at all gathered next to him on the counter, Daniel definitely has a Look at those - however briefly - before he nods at the boy in greeting, wandering into the rest of the store.
He seems to be picking between some ingredients, but then can't help but turn around and walk back to where Will is sitting - apparently having thought about something he does have to voice. Even if the man doesn't actually speak up, instead grabbing his phone from his pocket and typing out something on it, letting the device's robotic tone read it out for him.
"You've been eating more than just snacks, right?"
Sorry, Will, apparently some guy here just can't help but let his Dad instincts take over.. Even if Daniel himself isn't looking his best, a big bruise covering the entire side of his face.

But this time on a visit, the doors slide open to show something close to that: just, you know, it's a guy on a counter. The sight makes Robby slow a step as he enters, pulling a puzzled look as he sees them just there, hanging around.
"Hey," he gives, slightly amused. A little curious, too.

2!
This is a lie, because the true at worse is he's unintentionally quiet so there's a very good chance he'll end up right behind Will without him noticing, offering a, "Hello, are you looking for something?" in a bit of a monotone. He's a bit blank faced in a way some may find unnerving, but hey, he's here to... help? Or say hello.
