[ midnight looks. the elevator slide of his look and the flash of a smile has kaveh resisting the urge to look behind his shoulder to see just who's standing there that's eliciting this sort of warmth in a stranger, because it certainly couldn't be kaveh. he does in fact give in to the urge to peer over his shoulder when midnight turns to foray deeper into the store, and then ascertaining that nobody is there, brightens as he considers the problem at hand. getting shunted to what appears to be a different land with a different set of technological rules is a problem of a magnitude that kaveh can't resolve without significant amount of time and resources, if it can be resolved to begin with - but a simple furniture build is simple enough for a pair of idle hands to assist with.

kaveh turns to look. mannequins, rows of lighting illuminating clothing with cuts that resemble something out of an avant-garde fontainais catalogue several decades ahead of its time, a row of plush couches that won't do much for the stability of a raised platform... but there is a table displaying a set of sweaters that kaveh, from a far warmer climate, winces to behold. after peering around one more time to make sure nobody is watching, he stifles his natural discomfort at moving other people's merchandise and carefully takes the folded clothing to another low table nearby. then, he moves the table.

Here! Give this a try. [ kaveh calls out. the table is eased into place. kaveh considers the chair, hefts it onto the wooden platform, and turns it at a forty-five degree angle for just that little bit of added stability. ] And I agree. You're saying some of the sanest things I've heard since my arrival here, and for that, you have my gratitude. Spaces are designed to serve the behaviours of people, and the layout of spaces changes the behaviour of its inhabitants. Your mind is happier with biophilic design elements to promote restorative elements.

[ ... ] Ah, that's beside the point. If the chandelier makes you happy, why not have one, isn't that it?
