But they are pretty good for social experiments. Maybe I was right and they're running us through 'em to make us all buddy-buddy, or at least caring about each other, and then they'll throw a real problem at us that's more important than killing one another out of boredom.

Then they went to graduate school for community studies—that's a natural step up, or rather, narrowing down of topics from a broad subject like socials... Philosophy's an interesting choice for community stability, but they must've been focused on the relationship-side of things, hearkening back their original major.
