Dream might not actively be thinking of that, but Loki still has that impression. Though that is possibly because it is something he would do. Either way though, it doesn’t matter. When he gets the response, he simply shrugs. “Suit yourself.”

Loki sets about brewing the tea, pacing slightly as he waits for first the water to boil and then the tea to steep. He’s nervous. He doesn’t know what he’s going to see when he goes into Hob’s room. Logically he knows Hob will be okay, he’s not dying or anything, but Loki also isn’t sure how he’ll react to fully seeing someone he cares about injured.

When the tea is ready, he steels himself for what he might see as he puts the pot and two cups on a tray along with some milk before heading back out through the living area (where he gives a brief nod of acknowledgement to Dream) before quietly entering Hob’s bedroom, peering in to see if he is asleep.

From the bedroom, there's a soft groan as Hob turns and begins to wake. At first, he's a big groggy, but then he feels the phone still held in his hand and remembers he had sent a message out. Shit, did he fall asleep?

"Mmph. Dream?" His voice is a bit hoarse, so some tea is probably just the medicine he needs right now. "Did Loki come by?" When he sees a tall figure in the doorway, he thinks it might be Dream at first, but then his tired eyes focus and he realizes it's his guest.

"Oh, Loki. You're here." A smile and Hob stirs a bit more, sitting up just a little with his pillow behind him. "Did you make me tea?" There's an amused, but happy sound in his voice.

As for how he looks, he's looked better, but he's not on death's door. He's got a cotton t-shirt on and some sweatpants beneath his blanket. His skin color is pale from the loss of blood and he looks a little on the thin side, but he is awake now. "You got my message? Sorry, I must've dozed off." He finally puts his phone down on the covers next to him.

[ he watches Hob crank the can opener, but he doesn't offer to take it over when Hob strains since he's not requesting help. he does move to retrieve the requested pot though. ]

Several places have been searched with no results. The only recourse is to await her return, if she will.

Being called Dream pulls Loki up short for a moment, but he quickly forces himself to relax. He knows he’s feeling a bit sensitive after being worried about Hob and having the realization that Hob might have had a bit of a thing for his roommate (even if that was no longer the case). Johanna’s words about him having a type still continue to play over and over in his head.

Once he thinks he has himself under control, he takes a deep breath and steps further into the dim light of the room. “I am sorry to wake you, but your message worried me.” As does Hob’s pallor, but he doesn’t want to concern Hob with any of that. “And yes, I did make you tea. It is not exact, but I found a brew that is quite similar to one my mother used to make for me when I was not well. I thought perhaps it might help.” It has no medicinal properties, but Loki knows that does not always matter.

“I did, and I came over right away. All you ever need do is ask and I will come to you.” His voice is quiet, soft, as he gently sets the tray on the foot of the bed, casting the slightest spell he hopes works to prevent the tray from toppling. He sits himself, perching slightly on the edge of Hob’s bed as he sits up slightly. He makes sure to keep space between them so as not to disturb. “It is fine, you should rest as much as possible. In fact, perhaps I should leave and come back later.”

He doesn’t want to leave, but he does want Hob to sleep.

Well now. I wouldn't say no to that.

[As one might expect, Daan's hands are elegant and steady as he works, unbinding the bandages in order to have a proper look. True, the stitches are not immaculate, but they work well and shouldn't be fussed with. There's a satisfied nod from Daan before he goes into his bag.]

I'm going to provide you with antibiotics to ensure you heal. The wound looks clean, and shouldn't need additional help. There might be some discharge, but unless the wound feels hot or inflamed you should be fine.

Do you know if you lost a lot of blood during the encounter?

But why disappear? It makes no sense.

[ If she was injured or something, Hob knows she would call Dream for help. People don't usually disappear here unless they go home. A frown and a sigh. ]

I'm.. sure she'll return soon.

[ He tries to give Dream an encouraging smile as he turns to pour the soup into the pot and put the stove on. ]

You cannot be certain ... but the effort is appreciated nonetheless.

[ even though he was the one to try fixing some food for him, he doesn't fight Hob taking over. ]

[ No, Hob cannot be certain, but he's trying to be optimistic for Dream's sake. ]

Do you want some of this?

[ Hob can't help doing things on his own, but Dream's attempt is still deeply appreciated. And now that Dream has seen Hob do it, maybe Dream will bring him his next soupy meal. ]

No, thank you.

[ there's a slight pause as Dream watches him stir the heating soup. ]

... How are you feeling, Hob?

[ There's a pause at the question. How does he answer that? Feeling is.. many things. Not only does his aching body trouble him. ]

Alright, I suppose. Still hurts to move about, but it's getting better. That doctor who stopped in did a fine job.

Perhaps you should sit and continue resting?

Maybe Hob carried (or still carries) a small torch for Dream. It's hard to make heads or tails of his feelings toward the Endless, at times, but Hob called Loki here because he did want to see him. Very much. And whenever Loki looks at him with his adoring gaze, it makes Hob feel something so fulfilling it's as though he might burst with happiness.

When Loki joins him, Hob sits up a bit more and offers a hand to accept the tea. If it's something similar to what Loki's mother used to make him, Hob wants to try it right away.

The idea that Loki should come back later has Hob shaking his head. "I didn't ask you to come here to make tea and leave." There's a bit of humor in his voice. "I wanted to see you. Please, stay."

[ A little smile and a nod. ]

Yeah, maybe you're right. Would you stir this for me?

[ Hob takes a step back to allow Dream to take over in the kitchen. He steps around the counter to sit, instead. He probably doesn't need to rest right now, but Dream offered, and Hob thought it might be cute to watch Dream stir the pot.

... What? He's never seen him do that before. ]

[ Dream steps up to the stove when Hob steps away. stirring is easy, right? nothing can go wrong with this. ]

What did the healer say when they saw you?

[ Hob nods at the instructions. Obviously Daan is skilled and knows what he's talking about. ]

Most of the blood was lost after. I'm afraid I wasn't as careful as I should have been.

[ Mostly he kept trying to stop Johanna from leaving, which involved too much thrashing about until he couldn't actually fight anymore. ]

[ Once Hob sits at the counter, he realizes how much his body appreciates the rest. He'll need to be careful about pushing himself too hard before he realizes he's done it. Few men can say they know what it's like to be immortal, but he wonders what it must like to be as invulnerable as Dream. More and more, this place reminds him of his own limitations. ]

He said the stitches aren't half bad. [ Dream did well with those. ] And he gave me some medicine to help me heal faster.

[ as invulnerable and stoic as Dream seems most of the time, Hob will notice how a subtle tension in his poise relaxes at Hob's words. ]

That is good to know. I had been ... concerned that the steps taken were not sufficient.

I would normally suggest a blood transfusion, but I'm afraid that it's not really an option with lack of equipment. So, you'll have to make sure to do a few things.

[Gently and with a swab, he is working to apply some gel to the wound.]

Drink plenty of fluids. I'll bring you some supplements to help with the blood loss. And, of course, the medication I'm leaving you.

[ The gel is a little chilly, but Hob is patient enough with it, and Daan is gentle enough. ]

So I should avoid marathons and break dancing for now. Got it.

[ But Daan, isn't there a gala coming up? How can Hob avoid going to that? Maybe he can shuffle slowly about on the dance floor? ]

[ Nothing's going to happen to Hob at home. ]

[ Hob just wants to memorize Dream looking domestic, doesn't he.

though the suggestion causes his expression to darken and close; the shift is subtle, but Hob is familiar enough with him to see it. ]

All the locations she has been known to frequent have been searched.

[ We? Does Hob plan to search, as well? If he must; stitches be damned. ]
