WHO: Broca [personal profile] broca & Hawks [personal profile] redfeathers + Leon [personal profile] condorone
WHAT: Casually shows up late to the Halloween plot
WHERE: That fun haunted house! That isn't always so fun
WHEN: Backdated to the plot
WARNINGS: Likely gonna be some big violence in here

[HAWKS]

[ Why Broca decided that coming to this party seemed like a good idea is beyond him. The last actual party that this city had mysteriously decided to throw for them hadn't been particularly troublesome, even if there was annoying strict regulations about where they could drink, but overall it had been peaceful.

Subsequent happens, though not exactly parties, had been more of a headache. The trouble some people had at the bank, the issue with the mall...

There's no real reason for Broca to assume that something they're actually being invited to will go wrong, but he still doesn't look thrilled to be here. Part of that might be that he isn't thrilled by the costume foisted upon him against his will, though he's not bothering to remove the cartoony mouse-eared headband either as he trudges along an amicable enough stranger that he happened to bump into early into the haunted house exploration.

So far they'd seen several cheap looking decorations apparently set on springs that have popped out at them as they passed by. So far neither of the men have seemed particularly perturbed by any of it.

[LEON]

[ Further into the twist of hallways and odd rooms, the atmosphere has gotten stranger. The various spooks and jumpscares have become less cheesy Halloween decoration, and have seemed to take on a darker tone. At first Broca wondered if that was what seemed to be putting him into an unusual mindset as he stumbled along the hallways alone now. He wasn't an easily startled man himself, but anyone would start to get agitated being completely alone while surrounded by the intentionally eerie.

But the strange mood settled deeper onto his shoulders, slipped into the cracks of his mind, and eventually he found himself pressing back into the shadows himself as if he wanted to become part of the unsettling scenery. His breathing gets slower, his body dropping lower into a crouch as he creeps along. The goofy cartoon ears from earlier are still perched on his head, and make a strong contrast to the sharp look in his eyes as his real ears twitch, picking up the sound of footfalls as he draws back into a room, partly obscured in shadows.
