[By now her eyes have adjusted to the gloom, and she sees a familiar figure follow her into the room. The relief in her chest is matched only by her fear, and it's a strange combination to have swirling around, but there's no time to process it; Kaveh has barred the door, and she knows it isn't a good sign.

He calls out as if he isn't in the room with her--and she realizes that he's trying to confuse whatever was chasing them. She watches with wide, terrified eyes as searches for something on the wall; despite his reassuring smile, dread sits heavy in her chest.

Eventually, a door opens, and she can hardly believe her eyes. How did he know this was here? Does it even matter right now? She decides that no, it doesn't. She takes the light from him, and after just a moment of fiddling, figures out how to turn it on. Nill flashes the light on and off a few times to make sure, and then nods--yes, she's got it and she's ready to get out of here.]
