[ Lestat is so wildly touched by the idea of Louis listening to his music every night, treasuring the tape like he once treasured his poetry books, that he can feel the very slightest flush of warmth creeping up his face. It's heartbreaking, of course, to think of Louis in that state where all he had to keep him from misery was the tinny recording of a cassette tape given to him by the very place making him so miserable... but there's an element of hope in it, too. It's the first time he's heard of the City being kind, at the very least.

Consideration of those matters is for a later time; for right now, all Lestat wants to do is kiss Louis, so he does. ]

I'm glad there are no painful memories attached to it. For all my mistakes and all my reckless ideas, releasing that music certainly served its purpose. And it brought the two of us together again.

[ It snowballed quite spectacularly out of control, but ultimately Lestat got what he wanted out of it, and more. He gives Louis' middle another squeeze, still basking in how comfortable it is to be so close, so familiar. ]
