They're in the middle of a garden of poisonous plants, so I expect it to make anyone who imbibes sick.

I wonder if it's worth taking samples of. I don't exactly have any potion making equipment here.

There's equipment in the chemistry labs at the university. [Which, he should probably be using in the lab so whether they can remove the equipment is a moot point.] Without apparent elemental resonance it would be worth seeing what works.

Getting bored without your work? [A brief smirk. Not that Alhaitham doesn't find himself in the same position of spinning his wheels. Plenty of leisure would be fine and all for just sitting and thinking, categorizing everything he's learned but... there's such a limit to what he can learn here that he finds himself itching for more to pass the time.

He's having to talk to people. Because he has nothing to read. Terrible.]

It's probably intentional. [Not that they can't find hobbies and start building society from scratch, but the issue with that is that most people don't want to stay here--they have lives to get back to. Like them.]

It's easier to direct us to their latest experiment when we're confused and listless.

I'm sure it is. I'm sure everything about our experience here has been carefully thought out. But I certainly don't have to like it.

I wouldn't call it an improvement over my life in Sumeru. [That may not be the case for everyone, though, and doesn't it say something about how shitty some of their homes are that this place is better?]

[ yeah cyno can't say that at other points in his life he might've preferred a life here instead.. but sumeru is at least an evil he knows. that he's invested in. also, he misses cyrus and collei. :< ]

I read the paper about the experiment that supposedly happened in this city. There's also a collection of summaries for ones from our worlds, including those by Akademiya scholars. It's nothing useful. Even if someone had the idea to mimic one of those experiments, they wouldn't have enough resources to do so.
