[Alhaitham nods.] Given some of the produce is unheard of in Teyvat, the plant life could also be originating from a more specific place as well. Given their size seems unlikely that animals were part of the diet.

[Now if they find a person-sized fly trap... that'll be another story.]

They're still more than happy to consume animal meat, however. Protein is protein, I suppose. I wonder if it will have any ill effects.

I'll leave that question to Tighnari. I'm not going to come back every day to feed them and find out.

It'll probably be something else, if Tighnari cooks. But I'm happy to eat whatever is presented.

[His place, or Alhaitham's place that Kaveh has decided to commandeer in order to force Alhaitham's attendance. It depends what stage his renovations are in now that he's picking up projects left and right.]

[It's not weird to Alhaitham, but it is uncomfortable. Really, Kaveh is over so often he might as well clue in and move back into Alhaitham's place.]

Curiosity. After they tried snapping at me I wanted to see if they were adapted to more solid forms of protein than insects or if it was starvation.

Well, even if it was starving, it may still not be equipped to properly process the nutrients. But that's for Tighnari to figure out, if he wants to. [ a light shrug. ] I take it you've seen the teas..

They're in the middle of a garden of poisonous plants, so I expect it to make anyone who imbibes sick.

I wonder if it's worth taking samples of. I don't exactly have any potion making equipment here.

There's equipment in the chemistry labs at the university. [Which, he should probably be using in the lab so whether they can remove the equipment is a moot point.] Without apparent elemental resonance it would be worth seeing what works.

If nothing else, it'll give me something to do with my hands. It's easy to find myself restless, here.

Getting bored without your work? [A brief smirk. Not that Alhaitham doesn't find himself in the same position of spinning his wheels. Plenty of leisure would be fine and all for just sitting and thinking, categorizing everything he's learned but... there's such a limit to what he can learn here that he finds himself itching for more to pass the time.

He's having to talk to people. Because he has nothing to read. Terrible.]

[ he does what he can to keep busy here, but there's only so much exploring to be done, and precious little information to find - if any at all. ]

It's probably intentional. [Not that they can't find hobbies and start building society from scratch, but the issue with that is that most people don't want to stay here--they have lives to get back to. Like them.]

It's easier to direct us to their latest experiment when we're confused and listless.

I'm sure it is. I'm sure everything about our experience here has been carefully thought out. But I certainly don't have to like it.

I wouldn't call it an improvement over my life in Sumeru. [That may not be the case for everyone, though, and doesn't it say something about how shitty some of their homes are that this place is better?]

Have you been to the university yet?

[ yeah cyno can't say that at other points in his life he might've preferred a life here instead.. but sumeru is at least an evil he knows. that he's invested in. also, he misses cyrus and collei. :< ]

I read the paper about the experiment that supposedly happened in this city. There's also a collection of summaries for ones from our worlds, including those by Akademiya scholars. It's nothing useful. Even if someone had the idea to mimic one of those experiments, they wouldn't have enough resources to do so.
