[ Robby can read social cues, can tell when a subject doesn't want to be touched on. So he'll drop it; nevermind his own curiosity, since he wasn't even sure that hearing it answered would really get to the mystery that was bugging him.
He was kinda wondering where the fuck most of them came from, than just one girl.
But what was evident, if not already, was the lack of others once they moved away from the group that had gathered, people who were already splintering off themselves. It's telling for Robby, anyway: he doesn't think he's ever seen such an empty subway station, doesn't live in the parts of town where he really needs them, but still. None of the shops they past by show signs of life, the lights on inside not helping with the idea of their isolation.
He thinks about asking her if she wants anything before they continue, but he doesn't have any money. So, instead, he ends up climbing the stairs that leads to the main floor, and then they reach doors that show the signs of a world outside. It's even emptier on this floor than it was below, and when they get out, Robby pushing open a door by its push bar-- it's not anything different. ]
What the fuck...?
[ He really can't help himself, once he passes that threshold, stopping and looking, waiting on some sign of life to make itself known. ]
