CRAWLS IN HERE 20 YEARS LATER...
It's like a switch has flipped, the resting hero awakening quickly and letting himself be dragged along to safety as he cradles his free hand against his chest. His senses drink in everything around them, the tiny, growing wings on his back, nestled under the silly chicken costume, flick as he takes in the sounds. The minute vibrations, the small trembles in the air. And then the sound of the door being slammed shut behind them. )
Me? I'm good, saved by the wood. ( It's said far too casually, as the bright eyes flick down to take in the maids dress curiously. There's a small twitch of the corner of his lips, but for the moment, there's no comments or teasing to the stranger who'd saved him. ) Nothing a little time and ice won't heal.
( That said, he lowers he slips his hand from Kaveh's in favor of touching his wrist and then his side. A small sprain at worst, he thinks, but the fall he'd taken hadn't felt great on his healing side. )
Thanks for that. ( He motions towards the door. ) I'd be done for without you. ( He seems entirely to calm and casual about it - as if facing a potentially fatal situation is just another day. )
