He sees, of course, the way Lestat's eyes go wide and frightened and uncomprehending as he searches for something, and when their eyes meet Louis tries to tell him wordlessly that it's all right, he's here, he wasn't really going anywhere, of course he never would... And the moment is over, quick as switching partners in a dance.
