Perhaps that is why he feels so comfortable talking with Hob like this, because he can sense his genuine interest. That is really all it takes for Loki. The moment he feels like someone is humouring him, or teasing him, he no longer enjoys the conversation. Just that simple thought, that someone he enjoys spending time with is actually interested in him makes him feel happy in a way he’s unused to.

At the helpless smile, Loki leans forward and places a hand on Hob’s knee, squeezing lightly for a moment before pulling back. “You have nothing to apologize for. It is still something to learn that even if one disappears, they may return. And another that they will not remember being here before. I do not yet know what that might mean, but it is more information than I had before.”
