[Open] August Catch all

WHO: Marc Spector ([personal profile] justneedsomehelp) & you!
WHAT: Mall and other places.
WHERE: Various
WHEN: During the event and after (August 19th-26)
WARNINGS: There may be childhood abuse and trauma under the prompt where Marc sees his mother. Otherwise? Nothing I can think of in particular!

Endless Plummet;

Go to the mall, it'll be fun.

Yeah fucking right.

It's fine for a few moments when Marc's just browsing and seeing what shops the mall has to offer, what grand re-opening might entail. But then it feels... darker. It feels like there are eyes on him.

To be fair, he's been overly cautious paranoid since he landed in the city, but something feels off here. Maybe it's just the atmosphere with the emergency lighting, the dead silence.

But it doesn't feel like just that when he can't get out of the mall later when he tries.

"What the hell?"

Endless Dark;

Eventually, Marc manages to navigate his way to what seems like... a food court? He can be seen sniffing around, seeing what food can actually be collected there since... apparently they're gonna be here for a while.

And eventually, he's in the wellness store, grabbing any protein bars he can find, peering in at the jewelry store just--

To try and keep moving, honestly.

Then he ends up in an employees only section. "Run, huh? Well, that's reassuring, huh?"

To Be the Thing Not Touched;

That nagging feeling doesn't go away. It lingers and eats at Marc until he's stressed out, agitated. The slightest movement sets him off.

But then he finally sees it.

It.

No. Her.

"Mom?" For as gruff as he usually sounds, his voice comes out small when he sees her, uncharacteristically frightened. He'll be ashamed later than when she rushes forward, all Marc can really think to do is run. Run.

Run the way he did when he was a little boy sometimes. It was never good when she caught him, but fuck it. He can't do this right now. He can't remember which way he came from or which way he's going.

And Yet Still Breathing;

The very minute the lights come back and the shutters lift up? Marc's out. He's running the fuck out of the mall and out on the streets. Maybe to find a liquor store or an abandoned bar, or something.

Maybe he just wants to go home for a long shower.

Whatever it is, he's not-- exactly watching where he's going. If he happens to bump into anyone, it's a toss up whether he'll apologize or snap, with how frayed his nerves are at this point.

Wildcard;

[Want something else? Let me know! I'll set it up.]
