[MINGLE, ESPECIALLY TO NEWCOMERS] ROOFTOP FESTIVITIES!!!
WHO: All!
WHAT: Rooftop festivities!
WHERE: On a rooftop of an office building in the second open district!
WHEN: 8/14, evening!
WARNINGS: alcohol, tba as it goes

Banner displayed inside the train station, outside city hall, and on the most used residence buildings.
Follow the arrows.
So you're unaware. Maybe new. Or maybe you just didn't care the first time you saw it. That's fine. Between the banners hanging around key areas, and the flyers quickly drawn up in a similar fashion scattered across the city, it's hard not to know something is going on -- and there's helpful arrows, chalked on building walls and the streets the day of the party, to let people know where to go.
The Rooftop

A splendid scene awaits those who travel heavensward. Fairy lights connect the corners of the roof access building to metal poles at the corners of the building itself, lifted by cylindrical supports where needed, each one held straight by pots filled with well-packed dirty and stone. There's multicolored stars hanging from some of the lights, while various painted flowers hang on others, and what greets the ears first is some royalty free party music played from a CD player off the the side.
There's a long folded out table in the center for those who'd like to share cuisine, just set and serve yourself! Nearby is a space for Daan to do some bartending as well, a man who can make a multitude of cocktails and mocktails for those who want something less alcoholic. Also, pints of various ice cream flavors in a cooler!
Don't worry -- they won't have any odd effects on them, Don verified the lack of them herself. Not all of them are normal. Think loaded baked potato weird.
For those who'd like a quieter space, there's beanbags and a swirly, fuzzy carpet to sit on more away from the center of the party area. This'll be a great time to play some games, such as truth or dare, spin the bottle, and... whatever else you play at parties. Get to know your fellow man and such. Play the violin.
Naturally, no party... hosted... by Don Quixote would be without a space to fight, if one wishes to show off a little! It's also taking place on a swirly fuzzy carpet, just so no one smashes their head in, and there's a neat little banner hanging down from a string of lights that says thus:
WIN THREE MATCHES AND A PRIZE AWAITS THEE!!!!!!!
- NO KILLING
- HANDS ONLY
What the prize is, no one knows. But come find Don Quixote with your battle scars and she'll grant it -- and stick around a while, 'cause this party's gonna end with a bang... that is, with homemade fireworks donated by "a friend" through Junpei.
Anyway, have fun!!! Share words about your worlds!!! The society your characters are from, the cuisine they've brought, how they're working out in the city -- help the new kids along, too. There's more vets here now than there were a few months ago, after all.

[ it's probably her way of coping. can't complain if so, but it's still annoying to deal with. it's like philip being unable to wrap his head around the fact that kindness and such won't get them anywhere in this line of work.
at the other comment, roland hurriedly waves his hand. ]
Nothing like that, I swear. 'm just... [ stretches his arms with a fake yawn ] exhausted. To the point where everything's a blur right now, y'know what I mean?
no subject
[ She's just giving him a bit of a Look. Which he may not notice, given his current problem. But it's not like there's all that much here to exhaust people, short of picking very dramatic fights. ]
no subject
Didn't you see me manage the hotpot and barbecue stuff earlier? Didn't think it was such a hit with the newbies. Sure, you can get either of them in restaurants around here, but it ain't the same compared to eating it with a whole bunch of people.
[ his poor kbbq hand is TIRED, geb. ]
no subject
[ Especially when you're (ideally) not dealing with cannibals. ]

[ district 23, man..... ]
We didn't get to do much of that either, back at the Library. [ ... ] You've seen the others, right?
no subject
Didn't expect a sudden reunion, that's for sure.
[ And what a diverse bunch, too. Yesod and Netzach? Angela? ]
no subject
They got Angela too, somehow. Just... Who is running the Library now?
[ it's mind-boggling to think about. ]
no subject
[ What a terrible thought, though she says it very calmly-- ]
no subject
Okay. Binah, I can get. But Hokma?
[ what's the old geriatric gonna do? ]
no subject
[ Guys stop picking on the old guy. ]
no subject
[ he's not here to defend himself, it's fiiiine. ]
Wish I could get drunk, though. Too bad Daan isn't letting me have more than one drink. Ugh, why is the resident bartender also a doctor? The hell...
[ he's whining, can you tell ]
no subject
[ Damn. Doctors are brutal. ]
no subject
[ those aren't exactly doctor's orders, but his own. if he gets too buzzed, he'd have harder time recognizing anybody here... ]
But... Surely you can sneak me one can, right?
[ he grins. pleaaaaase, geb? ]
no subject
Didn't you just say it was for your own good?
no subject
[ pleaaaase, he'll behave. ]
Either that or we start smoking together like the usual. But I already did that with somebody.
no subject
[ Yeah, she's amused. ]
But sorry, you can't use me for your alcohol restriction-breaking. Ask Netzach.
no subject
[ ... ]
Aside from Netz. He's doing something right now, and what if I wanna hang with you this time?
no subject
no subject
[ 🥺🥺🥺🥺 ]
no subject
[ Gebura continues to be a great colleague and excellent friend and fellow Fixer-- ]
no subject
[ not his pleading looks not working on her... ]
Fine. I'll have one of your smokes then. You still got some, right?
no subject
[ Which is to say she'll reach for the carton in her pocket and beckon for him to hold out his hand so she can tip one cigarette into his palm. She's got you, homie. ]
no subject
Yeah, yeah, I should really kick the habit.
[ he takes a drag off his cigarette and stares off into the faceless distance. ]
...You enjoying yourself so far? Even if it's Don.
no subject
[ Gebura is a kind and loving coworker. ]
Parties aren't really my thing if it means I have to mingle, but if it's just talking, I don't mind it.
no subject
[ the delusions too, probably. gebura must mean their lobocorp days, then. ]
Anyway. I'm just glad you're coming out of your shell, is all. I get how hard it can be.
