My wife just calls me Daniel. Or, you know, pet names that have nothing to do with shortening my name.

It's the weirdest thing to relate to another person over, so highly specific, but.. it isn't a bad thing to relate over.

Especially when it seems to be lightening up the other Daniel a little. As much as he thinks this place is worthy of some Serious Concern, it's not like Daniel wants people to feel utterly miserable here. It feels nice to be able to give someone some levity for once. ]
