[ Daniel has seen Armand in bars before when people have gotten too handsy with him, but he has never seen Armand go where he does not want to go.
It's strange to see Armand shocked, resisting, struggling. He's reminded at that moment of Lestat's book and the way he described Armand's porcelain face cracking with emotion when he was surprised or upset. They'd argued about it, then, Armand assuring Daniel that Lestat was embellishing and Daniel seething that even with evidence in his lap Armand was still clinging to the stoic Master Vampire persona he'd closed around himself to keep people out, even people he professed to love and treasure above all else. This is one of those moments, isn't it? But how? How is this man overpowering Armand, and why, why is he doing it, why isn't Armand throwing him off, why is Armand calling out to him?
Thoughts fly through his mind. It's weird, the way the man is acting, like his emotions are acting without his say so, like the rage had flown through Daniel earlier, right, that had felt the same way, he couldn't control it, he couldn't resist it, like he'd been influenced by something, yes, but what, the music, the jukebox, no, or everyone would be influenced and starting fights, so what then..? Daniel looks at the man, searching for a solution or a clue, when he notices the man's hands on Armand's arms where a sticky rainbow-coloured mess oozes between his fingers. ]
The ice cream! [ He hollers as he uses his remaining pent-up rage to bodily drag the man from Armand. The element of surprise is in his favour as the man goes easily with a stupid noise of surprise, and Daniel has every intention of socking him in the mouth, but instead he topples over the spilt mess of Daniel's ice cream on the floor and ends up thumping to the ground in a heap. For a second Daniel's thoughts turn to the worst - killing a guy over ice cream is probably not the best first impression to make - but then the man groans and rubs at his head, and Daniel exhales a rattling breath of relief.
Then, he looks back up at Armand, holds his gaze for a moment or two, then scrams. He pushes the door of the ice cream parlour open and is gone from the storefront before the door swings shut. ]
