I wouldn't agree. Flowers are a complicated subject for anyone, man or woman. Proper education is necessary whether you are trying to survive in the forest or learning what kinds best suit each other for wreaths. If anything, it speaks highly of your friend that she is so interested in flowers, doesn't it?

Can you give a description of her appearance? I'll keep an eye out.
