"Eddie! What are you doing here?" If she sounds a little surprised to see him here, that's because she is. On the other hand, she can't really think of anyone she'd want to see more, all things considered.

Still, the fact that he's somehow here already, and seems fairly alarmed to see her, isn't terribly comforting.
