[Nill has just about convinced herself to make a run for the nearest door when she spots someone moving in her direction. Any thoughts of making a break for it flee her mind, and she's frozen to the spot until he's basically right next to her. Well, more in front of her and off to the side, but to a girl who has dealt with very few well-meaning and possibly decent people in her life, it still feels like he's looming.

Her eyes dart briefly to the side, then focus back on his face. She can tell that he... doesn't want to be talking to her, which makes her wonder why he would in the first place. She doesn't get the feeling that he means any harm by it, but even that makes her uncomfortable, too. Everything about this place does, so far.

But she can't keep standing there, gawking at him. It isn't getting either of them away from this situation any faster. Is she good? Absolutely not. Nothing about this so far has been good. But she gives a jerky nod anyway, because what else is she supposed to do?]
